Have you ever wished
someone would show you how to find cheap used cars for
sale online? Whether you are
in the market for a Honda Civic, Lamborghini Gallardo or
BMW 3 series, someone out there has one for sale and there
are ways to buy them at a substantial discount. I'm
not talking strong arm tactics and lots of yelling, but
very real life reasons to find cars at a substantial
discount.
So what is the secret
to finding cheap used cars for
sale? It really isn't
a secret at all. The answer in a simple word:
eBay! I know this might sound like a joke but
some of the best deals on the internet can be found
on eBay. And believe it or not, it is not difficult,
OR risky.
How can finding and
buying cheap used cars for sale
not be risky? Especially using
eBay? This real life tutorial of my experiences
buying and selling cars on eBay will make you a
believer. (The kind of believer where you will never
step foot on a dealership lot again!)
How To Buy a Vehicle on eBay and
Save Thousands
(and not get ripped off in the
process)
Not many purchases in life are as
daunting as buying a car. Except for buying a house, the
average person’s second biggest expense is their vehicle.
Now if you are one of those people that has a boat, rv,
motorcycle, gold plated toothbrush that costs more than the
average man’s lifetime salary, the thought of saving a
couple of thousand dollars on a used diesel
VW may not be that exciting for you. And more than
likely, you would not be reading this book in the first
place. But for average Joe and his wife, minimum wage
Sally, the thought of saving a couple months wages on their
next car purchase is probably the feeling of Christmas
coming in July (and being paid for by Santa Claus himself.)
This book was also not written by some computer geek trying
to pretend he has ever ventured outside the four walls of
his mother’s basement. Hi, my name is Seth Anderson and
this is my real life experience of buying and selling
vehicles on EBay (What I did do right, and more
importantly, what mistakes I made)
Who I am and why
it matters (or doesn’t)
I know you could care less about who I
am (let’s be honest, I know you don’t care) but my point is
that buying cars or trucks on eBay is not a
difficult process and you shouldn’t be afraid of it. I’m
sure the reason you are reading this is only because you
need some reassurance to make your first “big scary eBay
vehicle purchase.” Honestly, I bought my first vehicle from
eBay on accident (but we’ll get into that a little later.)
This book will give you the reasons to set aside your
trepidation and go for it. What will we cover?
- Setting up on eBay (Skip
this if you already know)
- Making searches on eBay
Motors
- Keywords
- Specific Searches
- Distance vs. Price
- How to evaluate a price?
- Found a good deal, then what? (Seller
Ratings)
- I won the auction, now what?
I bought my first vehicle
on eBay in March 2004 at the age of 21. I had been severely
ripped off from my two previous dealership purchases that
advertised cheap used cars for sale and was not looking
forward to dealing with those carnivores again. I was an
avid eBay user but had never even considered purchasing a
vehicle. Of course my thought (like anything new and
unknown to my sheltered mind) was: IT’S NOT SAFE! I was
looking at vehicles in Washington State (that’s where I am
from) to see what kind of vehicles people put up on eBay.I
figured the cheapest vehicle would be some
salvage piece of junk but instead I ran across a 1999
Daewoo Lanos (don’t judge me for buying a vehicle that is
now out of production) that was at $1400 and had only 79K
miles on it. Now, I didn’t know anything about Lanos’ but I
thought any vehicle that was relatively new and had only
79K miles on it was a great deal for under $1500. If
nothing else I could sell it. More for the fun of it than
anything I put in a bid for $1600. (Don’t think I just had
$1600 to throw around. I was only a cashier at a grocery
store with a small savings account of about $2000) I was
the highest bidder at the time but with 5 days to go in the
auction, I thought surely someone would outbid me for only
$1600. I was wrong! And as I said earlier, I had
accidentally bought my first vehicle on eBay. Since that
time I have purchased 8 cheap used cars for
sale from different venues (5 eBay, 2 dealers and 1
private auction) and each one taught me several lessons
about eBay: what to look for, what isn’t important, and how
to get the best deal even when not dealing with eBay. My
story will teach you what you need to know about buying a
vehicle on eBay and saving thousands.
